GUATEMALA CITY Guatemala's president said 15 people have died after strong earthquake struck off the Pacific coast of the country Wednesday morning, rocking the capital and shaking buildings as far away as Mexico City and El Salvador. President Otto Perez Molina says some of the deaths reported after the Wednesday quake have not yet been confirmed. About 30 homes have collapsed and there are widespread reports of landslides and injuries in the town of San Marcos near the northwest border of Mexico, where most of the damage has been reported. The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was a possibility of a local tsunami, within 100 or 200 miles of the epicenter, but they were not issuing an immediate warning for the broader region. The magnitude-7. 4 quake, about 20 miles deep, was centered off the town of Champerico.
